25 Jahre Bandgeschichte – immer noch dieselbe Besetzung, so was gibt’s nicht mal bei den Rolling Stones, aber The Adicts schaffen es. Ebenfalls über die Jahre treu geblieben sind sie ihrem Sound – „ehrlicher“, trockener Punkrock mit Skaanleihen und etwas Adam & The Ants – und ihrem Bühnenoutfit – einer Mischung aus Rudeboy und Clockwork Orange. Das schreit doch förmlich nach Anachronismus, oder? Die drei Songs auf dieser Maxi-CD werden jedoch so lässig, unter Nichtbeachtung moderner Studiomöglichkeiten, runtergerockt, dass einem fast die Phrase vom „authentischen Punk a la 1978“ über die Lippen kommen könnte. Manche Noveltyband müsste dafür mindestens drei Jahre im dunklen Keller üben. The Adicts machen mit ihrer zur Schau gestellten Ignoranz und Verweigerung richtig Laune.
PS: The Adicts gibt’s auch live zu bewundern und dann dürfte vor lauter Bier- und Pogoseligkeit kein Auge trocken bleiben. |
