| Nein, natürlich sind Glasvegas nicht die beste britische Band seit den Beatles! Und nein, Glasvegas sind auch nicht die legitimen Erben von The Jesus And Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine oder Velvet Underground! Aber Glasvegas bedienen sich recht großzügig bei den vorangegangenen Bands sind jedoch nie so noisig wie Jesus oder Velvet und die Layer werden nie so dicht wie bei Valentine. Was bleibt also? Weshalb dieser Hype? Unterm Strich bleiben ein paar echte Gassenhauer (z.B. Flowers & Football Tops, Geraldine, Go Square Go) bei denen sich perfekt ein paar Biere am Tresen kippen lassen, die aber auch zum Mitgröhlen auf Konzerten oder zum Tanzen in der Disco einladen. Auf dem heimischen Sofa ist die Scheibe auch zur gepflegten Weltschmerzsession bestens geeignet. Was will man also mehr. Glasvegas werden dieses Jahr vermutlich so oder so durch die Decke gehen und die Stadien und Megafestivals klopfen bestimmt schon an ihre Tür. Was soll‘s, Glasvegas machen Spaß und wachsen beim Hören. |
